Perfor­mances de la solu­tion, modules métier dispo­nibles, qualité du réfé­ren­tiel… sont autant de carac­té­ris­tiques qui comptent au moment de choi­sir une solu­tion carto­gra­phique. L’usage d’un client lourd complique l’exécu­tion des mises à jour logi­cielles. La solu­tion étant instal­lée sur les ordi­na­teurs de tous les utili­sa­teurs, il leur incombe d’as­su­rer la mise à jour de façon manuelle.
